Alfred Pennyworth

This is my Alfred Pennyworth biography.

Alfred Pennyworth is born in England to very well respected parents who worked as diplomats. While growing up Alfred connected with the idea of the military and becomes friends with a young boy named Thomas Wayne who his family had diplomatic ties with. Once Alfred was 17 he joined the royal airforce and was trained as a soldier. During his service he reunites with Thomas Wayne who is being escorted by the american military who were attacked by a group of rebel soldiers. Alfred's troup is the closest ally to Thomas and are sent in to protect Thomas. During the extraction Alfred saves Thomas' life after a rebel attempts to kill him. Alfred injured in the process is saved by Thomas' medical training and knowledge. They successfully leave the warfront and Alfred is told that he has made a freind for life. He leaves the military shortly after that mission. After he left the military he was recruited to MI6 and became a spy for the british government. Spending 10 years as a very skilled spy, during these years Alfred eventually makes his way to Gotham and to establisha a cover with his old friend Thomas Wayne. Spending years as Thomas' security chief and bodygueard. Alfred begins using Thomas' connections to discover threats to security to England or the United States. With the help of Thomas they end the threats for mutual benefits by crushing opposing companies to Wayne Industries. During one high class mission Thomas begins investigating another powerful Gotham company who appears to have ties to terrorism and meets with their council. During the meeting he meets a young exutive and hier to the company Martha Kane. They end up teaming up with Alfred to discover who is leaking the materials to the terrorists within the company. During this mission Thomas and Martha fall in love. The investigation leads to her brother who is disgraced and thrown out of the company. After another few years Thomas and Martha get married and have their son Bruce. Alfred connects with the young child so far as making a promise to Thomas that if anything happened to him, he would take care of the child. After the events of the Wayne murders Alfred posts his resignation with MI6 an begins to take care of Bruce as his guardian.

Bruce Wayne

Here is my Bruce Wayne history/biography concept up until Batman is born.

Bruce Wayne was born in Gotham General to Thomas and Martha Wayne. Thomas being the head of a billion dollar company Wayne Industries. Martha being the heir to another wealthy company Kane Chemicals, Making Bruce of course the heir to both of the companies. Bruce as a young man was raised in the Wayne Manor mostly by his parents and when they were working, their family butler Alfred Pennyworth. Through a young age Bruce was trained in all manners of science and theology, with ideals of becoming a cop his father enrolled and trained him with some of the best martial art practices as well as forensic science courses. Considered gifted at a young age Bruce had nearly finished high school studies by the age of 10. Being very close to his father he would accompany his father to work at Wayne Industries, a military contract organization and technology manufacture. By the age of 12 Bruce was fluent in 3 languages and had solved at least two unsolved crimes. Determined as ever to become a detective he began studying psychology, trying to understand the human and criminal mind. Attending an opening act for his twelfth birthday. A new circus performance being funded by his father called "The Flying Grayson's" with his parents, Bruce became very intrigued by the concept that they seemed to have no fear. Bruce himself had been afraid of Bats ever since an event with them since he was a child, after the show Bruce had a new determination to understand the concept of fear, only on the walk home through an alley a mugger appeared. Thomas moving to protect Martha makes the gunman coldly shoot Thomas. The bullet piercing his heart and going through him into Martha causes her to scream and the mugger to run. Bruce left there with his dead father and dying mother experiences true fear and is unable to move. Eventually the cops arrived, A young rookie detective Jim Gordon was assigned the case and promised Bruce that the man would be caught. Returning home now as the sole benefactor of his parents companies, Bruce however has no choice but to keep the ones in power for now until he is eighteen. Staying with Alfred for a year Bruce studied the case trying to find out everything he could about who murdered his parents and why. When Bruce turned 14 he decided to leave the country and ran away, needing to experience the world and other cultures. Bruce travelled the world and every culture he could think of, he studied each one and learned every discipline he could get his mind on. Until a few years later when Bruce was 17 he came across an assassination plot and stopped it, attracting the attention of the one whom planned the hit; Ra's Al Ghul, the leader of an international shadow organization known as the league of assassins. Ra's fascinated by the brilliance of the young man took the young man in and explained to him why the man needed to be assassinated. Bruce intrigued by this man and the reasons behind the assassination. Ra's interested by the boy wanted to teach him exactly what it means to be an assassin, he trained Bruce in more disciplines, for over a year Bruce studied under the tutelage of Ra's. Upon meeting his daughter Talia, Bruce fell in love and came to comfort the idea of being a permanent member of the league. After completing the entire initiation under Ra's in just over a year, the fastest that anyone in the history of the league had completed it. Ra's had come to the conclusion that Bruce would be his successor in the event of his death. Enraging the current successor and fiance of Talia, Antonio Diago. Whom had become a sort of rival of Bruces' through his training begins to plan the young mans downfall. Meanwhile Bruce has grown close to Talia even having her become attached and fall in love with him, enraging Antonio even more as his fiancee distances herelf from him. Ra's decides to have the ceremony dictating Bruce as the successor as soon as his initiation is finished. The assassination of a target, Bruce still hesitent with the idea of killing has doubts and shares his doubts with Antonio. Antonio reassures Bruce it isn't a big deal and offers to accompany him on the hit. Bruce agrees feeling better to have someone watch his back during the ordeal. However when the hit is going to take place Antonio turns on Bruce shooting him with three arrows knocking him off a roof. Antonio thinking that Bruce is dead returns to the guild with the plan to take over. Bruce whom survives his fall and is able to make it back to guild only to find it burning down with bodies and blood everywhere. Seeing Antonio on a tower fighting against Ra's with Talia and Nyssia in the tower with them. Bruce rushes towards the tower only to watch it explode. Making him feel fear all over at the thought of losing Talia the woman he loves and his new father figure. After a short time Bruce begins to head towards home. When he returned home Alfred had something for him. A letter from his father explaining everything he hoped Bruce would become and everything he could do with his life. he knew that his ideal of becoming a police detective was shattered. He needed to make a bigger difference in the city. So he decided that to honour his father he would clean up the city himself using his money and influence he created an alter identity inspired by the English translation of his league name "The Bat." Bruce aspired to create an ideal, something that would strike fear into the hearts of the criminals of Gotham and maybe even the world. He became Batman.

Oswald Cobblepott

Here is my Work In Progress report of my Penguin history

Oswald was raised from a young age by his single alcoholic mother who loved birds. She took care of him until he was 9-years old. At which point she died and Oswald was taken by the government and relocated to an orphanage. In the orphanage Oswald made fast friends with another child Joseph Chill known on the street as Joey. Oswald and Joey begin to run the streets and are very good, even begin creating a small street gang known as the penguins of Gotham. They would hit convienant stores and stalls for some petty cash. Oswald even made some friends in law enforcement understanding that in order to get things done one must pay the cops. Oswald would take a percentage of the profits and pay it to the cops for them to look the other way. By the time Oswald was sixteen, he and Joey had created a smart street gang. Oswald has begun creating legitiment business opportunities and creating a name for himself while running his gang in the shadows. Joe Chill becomes the most trusted friend of Oswald and becomes the face of the Penguins. Once Oswald turns eighteen he joins the political game. The Penguins are disbanded and Joey Chill begins his own gang. As Oswald's political career begins to flourish Joey Chill's criminal career begins blossoming. Soon Joey has become a mid-level crime boss for a young Carmine Falcone. He soon changes his name to the more respectable Joe Chill. Oswald soon opens his candancy for Mayor running against Thomas Wayne, the likely victor. After the race begins Oswald hatches a plan to destroy Thomas Wayne. Using his relationship with Joe Chill he is able to put a hit on Thomas Wayne's head. Using Joe Chill as the assassin. That fateful night where the Wayan's are murdered is perpurtrated by Oswald Cobblepot to win the mayoral election at 23. After Oswald is crowned Mayor he begins to corrupt the city council and the entirety of the Gotham's courts through money and influence with the organized crime families. For 10 years Cobblepot stays as mayor and begins to create business with the Iceberg Lounge and the Iceberg Casino, making lots of money for the underworld of Gotham. Even striking deals with Carmine Falcone and the Comissioner of the police force. Following in the steps of his grand-father Oswald strives to change Gotham only into a darker more fearsome place. Soon a vigilante appears in Gotham called "The Batman." Who eventually traces the corruption to Cobblepot, After months Batman is able to take down Oswald and have him arrested and tried for many crimes including embezzlement, abduction, kidnapping and bribery. The trial and case falls to the new ADA Harvey Dent. The trial begins and lasts for several months until it is clear that Oswald is going to lose the case. During the closing arguments of the case, Joe Chill breaks out Cobblepot with the forces of Carmine Falcone. The extraction injures and disfigures Harvey Dent in turn creating Two-Face. After Oswald escaped police custody he recreates the penguins gang taking the lead role as "The Penguin." Now in hiding he secretely runs his casino and lounge from the shadows and begins a battle of wits and crime with Batman. 

Harvey Dent

This is the rough history/biography of my Harvey Dent / Two-Face

Harvey was raised in an abusive home. A very violent father who robbed banks, and an alcoholic mother who neglected Harvey. Through the years of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of his father Harvey began to manifest another identity. "Big Bad Harv" who embodied all of the pain that Harvey had suffered creating a deep seated anger and hatred. Harveys' father would punish him using various twisted methods, however his favourite was to give Harvey two choices, then flip his special two headed sided coin. Which of course would land on whatever punishment his father desired. His father would spend his drunken nights mumbling about big plans with gangs of men to take banks for everything and would do his bidding for him. At the age of eleven Harvey's father was caught and convicted of armed robbery and sentenced to 25 to life in blackgate prison. After Harvey and his mother relocate to a new neighbourhood, Harvey enrolls in a new school. The pressure of his fathers conviction and the new school cause Big Bad Harv to reemerge which creates violent outbursts in class and the school yard resulting in a number of fights. Soon Harveys' teacher has noticed the big mood changed in Harvey and requests he see a therapist. After a few appointments the therapist concludes that Harvey is suffering from a personality disorder. Through years of treatment and therapy Big Bad Harv is surpressed and Harvey is able to follow his asspirations of becoming a lawyer to put away men like his father. Harvey meets the love of his life during law school. After graduating Harvey becomes a big shot prosecutor with aspirations to put away men like his father. After a few years as ADA he marries his law school sweetheart and they begin to start a family. Harvey is then given a promotion to District Attourney of Gotham. The added pressure of becoming a father and working as the District Attourney. Big Bad Harv begins to resurface slowly, at first only in high stress situations. However he begins to appear more frequently especially now that Harvey is expecting a boy and he has the biggest case Gotham might of ever seen. The defendant is Oswald Cobblepot whom is charged with murder and conspiracy, as well as dozens of other major and minor charges. The evidence is overwhelming and Harvey is insured a swift victory. As the case goes on roadblocks start building up and evience begins to disappear threatening to cause a mistrial. While Oswald Cobblepot is on the stand he makes an off hand comment about the witnesses not being credible as they didnt see anything. That neither will Harvey or his family, creates an episode of Big Bad Harv right when he goes to attack Oswald an explosion rings through the courtroom. Harvey takes a brunt of the blowback from the blast which scars and burns his left side harshly. The last thing Harvey sees before unconsciousness is Cobblepot escaping. Harvey wakes up in the hospital, deranged and confused wrapped in bandages all over his left side. The doctors inform him of the damage and request that he take some time to recrupiate. The first time Hrvey see's his face it strikes horror into his heart. He looks like a monster, which splits his identity again into a representation of the worst monster he has known, his father. After a few weeks he returns to work with the bandages as he does not want to create panic. Within another month his baby boy is born whom him and his wife name Edward Anthony Dent. Everytime Harvey see's his burned face it ignites his new personality which doesn't seem to have fully developed yet as it is just a reminescent image of his father, making Harvey become abusive towards his wife. Over the next few months it begins to get worse, until he hears news that his father has been killed in a prison riot. Harvey relieved hoping it to be the end of his violent outbursts. However after a few days he recieves his fathers belongings in the mail. When Harvey opens the mail he sees the two-faced coin with the one side scratched beyond recognition. The new identity fully manifests itself becoming Two-Face. Two-Face who will become one of the biggest crime lords in all of Gotham and one of the greatest bank robbers to ever live, who is cursed to flip his coin for any decision.

The First Concept

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my space where I will share my idea for a new conception of Batman. The idea is a novel series set in two timelines. One timeline being the retelling of Batman from his origins. The second timeline is set in the future after the mantle of Batman has been passed down to Dick Grayson. 

The idea sprung from an idea me and my friend Adrian had regarding the red hood. We conceptualized a theory that what if the Red Hoods' father was the Joker? That one idea spawned a whole universe of Batman inside of my head. Leading to this first concept, where the Hood gets taken by the Joker tortured and ultimately released causing a series of events leading to Jason Todd learning who his father is and the events that spiral out of control after.

Without further ado, here is the first concept of my future timeline of Dark Gotham

Book 1 - Knights Of Gotham
    Part 1:
The Last Laugh
Chapter I
On a stormy night Jason Todd is called out by an intruder in his territory killing his men. Jason shows up with a few of his men only to be betrayed by them in an elaborate trap set by the Joker who was the true mastermind of the red hood gang the entire time. After Todd has been subdued Joker kills his own men and takes Jason to a secure location. Joker then begins torturing Jason psychologically at first gradually turning more physical. At first Jason is horrified to be at the mercy of the one man he has nightmares about, the man that killed him. He has hope that Bruce will find him though.

Chapter II
Two years later, Bruce Wayne has retired the cowl about a year previous. Bruce handed off the responsibilities of Batman to Dick Grayson, his adoptive son and the first Robin. Bruce returning home from an evening out at a gala for Wayne Industries finds Alfred waiting for him with a package that arrived that evening. Alfred unsure of what the package is said it was delivered express and only arrived a short time ago. Bruce curious looks over the small box with only his name and address on the label with a winky smile face. Bruce opens the package revealing a bloody severed hand. Shocked and frightened about who's hand is sitting in his foyer Bruce and Alfred take the hand to the Batcave where they run it through the fingerprint database of the whole bat system. After a few seconds the match pops up as one Jason Todd. Jason Todd who is Bruce's second adopted son and the second Robin, he was killed by the Joker about 5 years previous only to be resurrected in the Lazarus Pitts and returned to Gotham as the Red Hood. Bruce concerned and panicked at discovering the severed hand is that of Todd. Bruce begins to search the computer for any information on what the Red Hood has been working on the past few weeks. Finding the news article from the last week about how the Red Hood was responsible from stopping a armoured vehicle heist by clowns; taking place in the warehouse district of Gotham. The Hood was able to save millions of dollars although a large sum of cash is still unaccounted for. Bruce pondering how that sounds exactly like Jason, doing something heroic, but taking something personal from it. Bruce attempts to call Dick Grayson but only receives his voicemail. Leaving him a message as Dick is overseas on business this week, informing him that it appears Jason has been captured. Bruce knowing that the only man who would pull something like this off would be the Joker. Bruce suits up into his dusty Batsuit and heads out towards the scene of the armed robbery to find some clues about the potential location that he could be holding Todd. Bruce constantly telling himself that he cannot let this happen again, he will not let Jason die at the hands of Joker a second time. Jumping on the Batcycle he heads out into the night.

Chapter III
The Joker is laughing and informing Todd that today is the day that everything is going to come together. His ultimate plan to destroy the bats. He is going to kill the bats in front of Todd this time, and that it is going to be a spectacular show. Joker squealing with joy leaves the warehouse where Jason is being held captive to finish the final details of the trap. Jason trying to remain conscious from his severed hand, finally alone he is able to break free from his bindings using the intense pain from his severed hand to allow him to feel less sensations in the rest of his body allowing him to escape. Jason sneaks out of the warehouse and begins to head towards Wayne Manor looking for anyone or any phone he can use to call Bruce and warn him that it is all a trap. Unknowingly to Todd, he is doing exactly as Joker has planned for him to do.

Chapter IV
Bruce stops by the station and meets Gordon, informing Gordon that Joker has taken someone very close to him. That Joker has gone to far this time and he needs any information about his possible whereabouts. Gordon informs Bruce that he has heard that Joker has been hanging around the Kane Chemicals warehouse, which also happens to be near the location of the armoured truck heist. Bruce knows these can't be coincidental. Batman vanishes from the station rushing towards the address. Eventually arriving at the address, Bruce stakes out the warehouse and sneaks inside. Once he enters the main manufacturing floor a video projector starts up and begins playing a video showing the heinous torture of Jason right before his hand is severed. As Bruce watches in horror at the sight of his adoptive son being cruelly picked apart psychologically the blade comes down severing Jason's hand. A blood curdling scream echoes through the entire warehouse until the projector suddenly cuts out and Jokers ominous laugh echoes through the warehouse. Suddenly gunfire bursts out from the shadows as Batman jumps for cover. The direction Batman dives in is lit up by explosions from handheld grenades, Bruce narrowly avoids the concussive blasts. Suddenly the Joker appears before Batman swinging a crowbar down onto him. Batman takes the hit to the face and quickly recovers parrying the clown and lunging towards him. Grabbing the Joker by the throat Bruce demands Joker tell him where Jason is. The Joker cackles maniacally responding that "the boy is dead, no coming back from a severed head. his gravestone shall be read, here lies the headless Red." Joker cackles harder from his rhyming joke. Bruce completely in shock from the Joker that he can hear his own heartbeat in his head, with a white hot rage enveloping him. Bruce completely overwhelmed by the news of his adoptive son's death at the hands of this mad man a second time makes Bruce fly into a rage. Bruce begins beating Joker, hitting him over and over; harder and harder. All Bruce is aware of is his heartbeat and the dying laughter of the murderous clown. Bruce beating the Joker savagely remembers Jason and how good of a soul he was that he is able to gain control and stop beating the Joker. As Bruce stops the assault Joker takes the opportunity to grab a busted iron pipe and jam the razor sharp edge into Batman's chest. Bruce groans out in pain letting the Joker go, the Joker makes his escape setting off one final giant explosion seemingly destroying the entire warehouse.

Chapter V
Jason Todd is about ten blocks away from the warehouse heading towards Wayne Manor. A giant explosion fills the night sky coming from the warehouse where he was being held captive. Seeing the remnants of the explosion in the night sky followed by deep bellowing smoke. Jason horrified realizing he might of been too late to warn Bruce begins rushing back to the warehouse. During his travel back he stumbles across a badly beaten and bloody Joker hunched over in an alley way. Jason overcome with rage and anger grabs the bloody Joker by the throat with his right hand screaming at the clown "why?" Joker looks up with an almost toothless smile on his face choking on blood as he cackles. Joker tells Jason that it is in his nature, he is the scorpion of the fable. Gurgling on blood he chuckles with an ominous tone looking up at Jason he says that Jason was a pathetic son and that he needed to motivate him to be better son who will respect and fear his father. As Jason eyes grow wide in horror realizing that the Joker is saying that he is Jason's father, he shakes his head shaking the clown saying that it can't be true. The Joker bellows a giant Cackling laugh as he says that the Bats knew all along. That is the Jokers last Joke as his deep laughter turns into a hacking cough of massive amounts of blood. The Joker dies in Jason's arms from the injuries that Batman had inflicted upon him.

Chapter VI
A broken and bloody Bruce climbs out of the debris of the warehouse barely managing to survive the explosion. Looking around the shattered warehouse his vision becoming slightly blurry from the blood loss. Bruce clutches the wound that is now freely pouring out blood, trying to contact Alfred Bruce realizes that his equipment was damaged by the concussive force of the blast. Coughing up blood Bruce realizes that his internal organs have been damaged and that he is bleeding internally. Bruce manages to crawl over to a half broken wall and steady himself enough to stand on shaky legs. Bruce looks up seeing a figure in the distance. As the figure gets closer the image appears clearer, it is Jason Todd. Bruce half delirious from blood loss and a concussion thinks maybe that dying won't be so bad if he can see Jason again. The figure keeps getting closer as Bruce begins to reflect on everything he has done in his life, and whether or not he made the right decisions. Suddenly Jason's voice breaks Bruce's reflection crashing him back into reality, not really hearing what Jason says Bruce chokes out a question of "what?" Jason demands to know if it is true. Bruce confused and disoriented questions "is what true?" Jason's image clear as day wide eyed and battered asks Bruce if he is the Jokers son. Bruce absolutely shocked by the question is unable to deny it. Jason's eyes lose all hope that he was holding onto of it being a lie and is overcome by a white hot rage. Jason unable to accept that he has been lied to his entire life and that every horrible thing in his life was decided from birth because of his father. Jason attacks Bruce screaming at him that he lied to him his entire life. Bruce is beaten savagely until he is motionless looking up at his surrogate son, Bruce understands that this was the Jokers last laugh. As Bruce feels his last breath leave him he hears Jason scream into the night while he holds Bruce's dead body.

Chapter VII (WIP)
Dick Grayson rushing into the Batcave to gear up to join the hunt for Jason Todd, after receiving the message left by Bruce he got on a plane and headed back as soon as possible. The fact that Dick wasn't in the country was not lost on the Joker. As Dick arrives in the cave he sees a bloody, beaten and dead Bruce Wayne. Dick horrified by what he is seeing is distraught and refuses to accept what his eyes are telling him. Suddenly the silence of the cave is cut when Jason Todd speaks out from the shadows of the cave. Dick turning around towards the voice slightly relieved but still very confused asks Jason what the hell happened. Jason breaks down into a crying laughter, responding that he killed Bruce because he has lied to him his entire life. Dick horrified by the confession of Jason shouts angrily approaching the voice in the shadows. Dick screaming that Bruce was like their father. Jason's laughter turns more into a cackle as he screams back that Bruce is not his father. Only then does Dick know what Jason is talking about. Before Jason even says it Dick knows. Jason in a bold statement declares that the Joker was his father. Jason moves out of the shadows revealing his mouth bloody and cut into a smile from his own knife. Jason berates Dick that Bruce would never have chosen him to become the bat, that he wasn't training him to become a hero. Bruce was making sure he could keep him out of the hands of Joker. Jason clearly unstable shouts that Bruce was never going to accept a broken spawn of Joker as his own family. Then Jason ponders for a moment and adds that Dick was never going to either, he thought of Dick as a brother but now sees him for what he is. Jason cackles loudly as he spews that his purpose in life is to make Dick suffer for the rest of his life, to suffer like Jason has suffered at the hands of Batman. Jason than activates the bat whistle creating an enormous distraction of bats and disappears, leaving Dick Grayson standing there in stunned silence.
